I moved to Grange-over-Sands in late 1983 to work in a small office with Joan and one other lady. I worked alongside joan until she retired.

joan was quiet kind unassuming and thoughtful. She lived with her mum who was retired. 
Joan would never leave her mum home alone without a great deal if soul searching and as a result she did not see much of the world at that time. 

Joan never had a bad word to say about anyone.
she had a ready sense of humour at all times but never at the expense of another
